Updated info

Here is a more recent picture of our girl. She officially turned 9 mos. old on 10/20. We sent the care package through Redthrreadchina.com and a very generous lady named Ann sent us this picture plus 2 other photos and some updated info on our little Anna. She's 14lbs. now, 25 in. long, and has 6 teeth. We're very grateful to her for sending us these pictures at no extra charge and without even asking.

We applied for our visas last week and should get that back in the next 2 weeks or so. No word from our agency yet on travel dates. But we're very patient - we're used to the waiting.

p.s. Happy Birthday to my Mom. I miss you.

Waiting for Travel Dates

We are in the process of completing another big chunk of paperwork...agreements, authorizations, multiple copies, notarized, visa applications, more hideous passport photos, etc. THEN there is another stack of immigration paperwork that we need to fill out and take with us to China. It's a bit overwhelming.

On another note, I just ordered a care package to send to our little Anna at the orphange. It has clothes and toys for Anna; candy and tea for the nannies; a camera; a letter from us and photos of me, John and Ryan. I hope they will show the photos to her often so she'll know her family.

In the meantime, getting ready for baby showers. That's overwhelming too!!

More Paperwork

Thank you to everyone for your loving support and kind words. It has been a very long journey for us and we are honored to share the rest of it with you.

We sent the "acceptance" letter back to our agency on Monday. On Tuesday we received our pre-travel packet which I'm working on now. We will likely be traveling with the other parents who also have babies in the same province/orphanage. Also on Tuesday we had Anna's medical information evaluated by a pediatrician who specializes children adopted from other countries. Other than being on the small end of the specturm, overall, she appears healthy. Those chubby cheeks are also a good indicator! Can't wait to squeeze them!

Here She Is!

We received her pictures and medical information today. She was born on January 20, 2008. Her Chinese name is Jiang Yi Xi. She was found near a bookstore by a local police officer who brought her to the Social Welfare Institute of Guigang City, in the province of Guangxi where she remains now. She is a healthy happy 8 month old. We are so excited and can't wait to get to China!!
